May 10, 2009 - Happy Mother's Day!

Hi. Happy Mother's day to all you mom's out there. My mom always told me you will never understand how much you can love someone until you have a child of your own. She is so right! Mom I wish I could see you on your special day to give you a big hug and tell you thanks for everything you have done for me. I love you!

Thanks Grandma Sue and Grandpa Cliff for babysitting for us this weekend. We appreciate you looking over our son while we were gone for the day.

The only update we have on Caden is his NG (Nasal Gastric) tube is back. We were told if Caden didn't start eating better he would have one inserted so he wouldn't continue losing weight. So we got to enjoy Caden "tubeless" for 1 day . Now the tape and tubing are back but hopefully not for long. Caden has already proven he can take up to 76 cc for dad tonight.

Love always -
Melissa and David

  4. Good morning Caden-
    Today is Monday May 11th which means you are 3 months old; Happy Birthday! I wonder if those wonderful people at Children’s Memorial have anything special going on today…please let us know if they do.
    Well unfortunately the Milwaukee Brewers have won this series by winning 2 of the 3 games over the weekend. At least, the Cubs were able to win yesterday’s game and avoided the embarrassment of being swept. “When a team is swept in a series it means that they have lost every game in that particular series or group of games”. Hopefully, since it is your birthday, the nurses will not rub it in so much.
    There is also another reason why today is special; Chicago is now just one win away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals. The Blackhawks haven’t been in this situation or made it to the finals since 1995. However, if the hawks should lose tonight the series would be tied at 3 games apiece and the final game would be played on Thursday. I will most definitely let you know what happens.
    Have a wonderful day Caden

  5. Good morning Caden-
    Today is Tuesday May 12th and it is a very sunny day and I hope you had a great birthday. Well, the Blackhawks did it last night!
    Patrick Kane had his first hat trick and Jonathan Toews scored the go-ahead goal in a wild third period, where both teams combined for 6 goals, Monday night as Chicago advanced to the Western Conference finals by beating the Vancouver Canucks 7-5.{If someone scores a "hat trick" in hockey, it means that a player has scored three goals in one game.}
    Now, the Blackhawks will wait to see who they will meet in the Western Conference Finals; The Detroit Redwings or the Anaheim Ducks. The winner of this 7 game series will advance to the Stanley Cup and play for the right to be called champion.
    Have a wonderful day Caden
