Hi everyone - It's Melissa. I didn't want to not post, but I need to make this brief as the computer lab at the Ronald McDonald home is closing soon. Today consisted of eating, throwing up, sleeping, and pooping. Probably the most exciting thing was how the nurses made me evaluate his poop to see if it was "normal". Gross! Do they have a scale of poop-gone-wrong? As you can see I am a new mom, and wasn't aware you can tell a lot by your child through their poop. Since Caden has been throwing up so much we had to evaluate his poop to make sure he wasn't getting sick. Sick....yeah it made me sick alright. Doctors are doing an echo on his heart tomorrow to evaluate the blood flow in/through his shunt they constructed during surgery. We will post more details in Wednesday's post. Good night.

We look forward to seeing Caden--who is sooo very beautiful (handsome will come with age, David!)every day. He is the perfect combination of his mom and dad! We continue to pray for Caden and the two of you. These days are such a mixture of joy and heartache. We cannot imagine. ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned Baseball season has begun and both Chicago teams have won their home opener. Yes, even though your daddy won’t admit it there are 2 baseball teams in Chicago; the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Whitesox:
A little history about the Cubs:
The Cubs were formed in 1876 when there were only 8 teams in the league at that time and they were known as the Chicago White Stockings.
The team held onto this name until 1894 when it was changed to the Chicago Colts. It wasn't until 1902 when the team inherited its present name...The Chicago Cubs. The name first became known when the Chicago Daily News coined the nickname due to the fact of the amount of young players that were on that year’s team.
Tomorrow, I will let you know about the history of the White Sox.
I hear they are running some test to see why you keep getting sick. I know that the team of doctors that are working with you will find the answer and make you better. Just stay happy, strong and focused my little friend.
