Fontan Day 3: June 1 3:50 PM

Caden is out of surgery (again).  Melissa, myself and g-pa Fred stood in the hallway waiting for him to go by.  He looks "good" and he sounds great.  They removed 20+ cc's of a hematoma.  Melissa and I just talked with Dr. Tweddell and our PA Mike (happy birthday Mike) and they said it went great and they feel like the made a great decision in going back in versus waiting to see if it would take care of itself.

I pray that Caden stays restful the rest of the day and throughout the night.  I pray i see more smiles from his mother than tears.  I pray that we turn the corner and hope beats out fear.  I pray for a speedy recovery.  Please join me.

  2. Yes we are with you guys!! So many prayers for strength and healing...he's going to be in your arms smiling in no time. He probably won't even want to be held, he's just going to want to get down and run with some super high awesome O2 levels!! One foot in front of the other, one minute at a time... love you guys, thanks for updating- we SO appreciate it.

  5. Stay strong Smiths! Caden is one tough little man, and will be running around in no time. He no doubt gets his strength from his amazing parents. We will continue to pray for quick healing, some peaceful sleep for all of you, and for your family to be back together as quick as possible. It was great to see you today. Please let us know if we can help in any way...holding you all close to our hearts during these tough days.
