Hi Everyone. I'm happy to report Caden is finally starting to feel better. We walked into the room this morning to find him smiling. A sight we haven't seen for quite some time. Dr. Nancy told us his white blood count dropped again today which is good, and she said the rest of the tests haven't told us anything yet so the mass amount of antibiotics must have worked to kill off the bacterial infection. We are out of isolation now (yeah...those gowns are a hundred degrees), and they have Caden back on room air (no oxygen). He is allowed to eat again which he just rocked out 85 cc with David. All in all, we feel blessed your prayers continue to work. Now we just continue to work on feeding, monitoring his saturations, and watch his white cell count to make sure his body continues to fight off this infection.
I'm happy to post a picture where Caden is back to himself. Eyes wide open.
Thanks again for your love and prayers -
Melissa and David

Isn't it wonderful what the smile of a child can mean to us? Before Vern began the sermon today he asked for everyone to pray for Caden and filled them in on his current status. I'm glad he's "turning it around!"
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Camille G.
I love this picture of Caden with his eyes wide open. And, I'm so happy he is feeling and doing better. My mom always said that God gives us what we can handle and you guys are handleing it beautifully.

Celebrating a better day with you! We thank the Lord and pray for another one of those days tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the good news! Bradley was with me when I checked on Caden earlier tonight. He looked up at me with his big brown eyes, sighed and said with a great big smile "Baby Caden is getting big just like me." Bradley keeps asking if Caden can come over and play with him. He doesn't understand Caden is too little to play - Bradley just knows he already loves him. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of Caden's journey. Our prayers continue - we are smiling with you tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe love you all -
Jim, Michelle, Austin, Bradley and Connor

Good afternoon Caden-
ReplyDeleteToday is Monday June 8th and I have realized that I never finished explaining the meaning of this month;
June is named after the Greek Goddess, Juno. Juno was the goddess of marriage and of married couple's household. Which is why, some consider it good luck, to be married in this month…which is also why June is currently the most popular month to be married in. June, in the Greek Mythology, also represents the zodiac sign of Gemini.
I am so pleased to read that you are getting back to your normal self and that the infection seems to be subsiding. I am guessing with the infection getting weaker, that so are your headaches. Please continue with your positive mental attitude and this surgery will also soon be a thing of the past as well
Last night, was the 2nd game of the NBA Finals and it marked the Magic franchise's sixth straight defeat in a finals game, placing Orlando three off the Washington Wizards all-time record for most consecutive finals losses; (9), before earning a win. However, the Lakers were very fortunate to come out of last night’s game with a victory; (and they needed overtime to do so). Now, the Lakers have a 2-0 advantage as they head to Orlando for the next 3 games in this series; (with the final 2 games to be played in Los Angeles, if needed).
Have a wonderful day Caden
What a great sight to see Caden's big eyes. Glad he is doing better. Thanks for keeping us posted on his daily activities. So.Il. is keeping the prayers coming for all of you.
