June 2, 2009 - Echo & EKG

Hi. Caden is having a good day so far. Doctors are still trying to tweek some medications for his high blood pressure, and he is still struggling with his "Glenn Headaches" but otherwise he is starting to act more like himself. He had an EKG and Echo today so they gave him some sedating medication so he is really groggy now. I'm looking forward to him waking up soon so I can see those little smiles and hear those cries (as weird as that sounds). We continue to thank God for the healing he has done thus far and continues to do on a daily basis.

Love-
Melissa

  3. We echo your sentiments - his progress seems pretty incredible. Tell our newest Great-Nephew to keep up the good work - we are very proud of him. Thank you for the continued updates. We check on Caden every day - several times a day. We have people ask about Caden often and it is so nice to share the most recent updates. We love all of you and your family remains in our prayers.

Please tell Caden the best birthday gift for Grandma Sue is to keep getting stronger everyday.

    Love, Ward and Cheryl

Keep it up, Caden! We are all so proud of how hard you fight through each struggle. Just think, when you are a teenager, dealing with girl trouble will be a piece of cake compared to what you have gone through in just the first 2 months of your life!

Lots of love to you and Mom and Dad--keep going with all of the happy thoughts! If it ever feels like any of you three are alone, please know that you are NEVER far from our hearts!

By the way, the Cubbies are playing right now and THEY could use a little of YOUR fighting spirit! COME ON CUBS!!!!

  7. Good morning Caden-
Today is Wednesday June 3rd and I am glad to hear that you are slowly starting to act a bit more like yourself. Please continue to maintain your level of strength and I am sure that those doctors will figure out a way to get you “H”. You are such a little warrior and you continue to amaze me more & more with every day that passes! I look forward to the day to finally meet you in person.
    On the rink:
    The Pittsburgh Penguins lacked scoring and confidence while losing the first two games of the Stanley Cup finals in Detroit. But that wasn’t the case last night;
The Penguins were not willing to give up and admit defeat and it showed in yesterday’s game.
With some calming words from their coach and being back on their home ice, it created an atmosphere that might have just saved the Penguin’s season.
Now, Game 4, which could have been an elimination game for Pittsburgh, will have a totally different meaning. Either the defending champion Red Wings can take a stranglehold 3-1 advantage or the Penguins can make the finals a best-of-three series after losing the first two in Detroit.
    Have a wonderful day Caden

  10. GREAT NEWS!!
We love reading these great updates as much as you like typing them!! Zach (he's 6 & just finishing up kindergarten)& between you & me, Caden...Zach said "Mom, will Caden have a scar on his chest?"(I said "probably, buddy. Why?") Zach quickly said, with excitement & a big smile on his face... "well, you know that 'chics DIG scars'. He's pretty lucky".

Ever scab he gets, he was always asking me if it is going to be a scar (I thought he was worried) but now i know the REAL reason for him asking!! "Go get 'em tiger!!"

    Love to all!
Meredith, Jason, Zach & Jake Mickelson

PS: I LOVE the family picture!! Thanks again for your udpates!

  15. May God and all of his Angels continue to protect Caden. But, most of all, that God continues to give you and Melissa the strength and love for one another to get through each day for Caden. He is such a very lucky boy to have such loving, adoring, caring parents! He is so handsome!! Prayers and love.

  16. Hi Melissa and David ~
I haven't talked to you in so long but please know I have been reading your posts and thinking and praying for Caden every day since before he was born. I admire your strength through all this and hope the little guy will be able to get H as soon as possible. I love the picture with his little blue hat on, what a cutie!!! My boys have been very interested in what's going on, it's nice to put a name with face so they know who we're praying for. With our continued thougths and prayers...
