12:00 Update

Dr. Tweddell has now started surgery. He extended the inferior vena cava using gortex conduit tubing. This tubing is now being connected into the Pulmonary Artery.

Our HLHS Story

This blog was created to keep our friends and family updated on our son's fight with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. We want to thank everyone for all your love, support, prayers and kindness. After 3 months in the hospital with two open heart surgeries we are finally home in Crystal Lake, Illinois enjoying every minute of it!

March 11, 2009 - Birth 7.8 oz

March 16, 2009 - 1st open heart -Norwood Operation(5 days old)...........

March 20, 2009 - Chest Closure from Norwood........

May 5, 2009 - Heart Catherization

May 29, 2009 - 2nd open heart surgery Glenn Operation (2.5 months)

April 9, 2012 - Heart Catherization/Scope

May 31, 2012 - 3rd open heart surgery (Fontan)

June 1, 2012 - removal of hemothorax (blood mass) in chest cavity after Fontan

Both surgeries were done at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin by Dr. James Tweddell.
