June 9, 2009 - The smiles are back!

Now this is more like our son!!
Nurse Julie and Caden :-)

Another win for Caden! He is officially back to himself (with the exceptions of a few major unconsoleable moments which they are still monitoring to make sure they don't overlook anything). However, I feel our boy is back!! The smiles, giggles, and coo's. I can't say we are in the clear quite yet, but I have a good feeling we are well on our way.

Today's pictures and video clip is of one of our favorite nurses- nurse JULIE. Julie has been with Caden through the good and bad and takes care of him like he is her own. We are so priveledged to have Julie, Shelly, Suzie, Melissa, and all the other great nurses. They are definitely TOP NOTCH! Thanks Ladies :-)

Love to you all -
Melissa

  9. What an amazing video- funny how sticking out your tongue and making farting noises can be so funny (to even a 34 year old). He is just a joy to look at. The nurses are truly amazing and it looks like Caden might have a little crush on Julie (probably b/c she is from/lives in Milwaukee). So happy to hear that his days are getting better and better-keep up the good work Caden!!

What a GREAT video clip! I'm so happy to see such a HUGE smile. I bet yours is just as big! Sorry I haven't been able to comment the last few days. I was out of town visiting family. I was able to keep up with your blog via my phone, but it wouldn't let me post any comments. Thanks for your voicemail as well! Just remember, sometimes the mom & dad need a bear hug just as much as the baby. I'm sure Caden is happy to share one with you. Take care!!!

  19. Good morning Caden-
Today is Wednesday June 10th and what a great start to the morning it is! You know, they say a picture is worth a thousand words and your latest picture is worth a million! It is awesome to see a great big smile on that little round face of yours! I knew that you were going to find the strength and determination to get past this stage of your recovery as well! I am so proud of you and honored that I have been able to follow your progress every step of the way. I swear I can’t wait until the day that I can give you a big hug! What a great victory this is for you and your family!
Speaking of victories; history did not repeat itself last night, since the Pittsburgh Penguins were able to hold off a last minute flurry, form the Red Wings and they were able to hold onto a 2-1 victory. Which means that this series is all tied up, forcing a deciding game 7, which will be played in Detroit. The Penguins are going to have a tough time making history and winning the Stanley Cup! Home ice has been a very main factor in this series, considering the team playing at home has won in the last 6 games.
    Have a wonderful day Caden
