June 8, 2009 - And better....

Hi everyone - It's Melissa. Each day that passes Caden seems to be a bit more lively and back to himself. Doctor's are keeping him on his antibiotics until late in the week then they will remove the pic line in his arm. The Physicians assistant who closed Caden's chest came to check on the redness surrounding his incision which appeared to be better yesterday but red again today. If you look closely at the picture from yesterday you might notice some bruising and some purple lines. The purple lines were from a body marking pen that they used to outline where the redness stretched out from his incision. They marked it to see if it continued to get red beyond that point. So, the antibiotics are doing there job so now we just continue to work on feeding and watching his oxygen saturations. All in all, today was a pretty good day. We thank you for your prayers and praise god for all the blessings.

I would also like to wish my brother Eric a very Happy Birthday today! Hope your having a great day!!!

Love -
Melissa

  1. Melissa, we are so happy that Caden is doing much better with each passing day. Maybe one day in the not so distant future you, David, and Caden will be able take a road trip to Southern Illinois. Everyone here is looking forward to that day. Love to all---

  6. Can't wait to see Caden with a big smile on his face! I have been blessed with grandchildren that have beautiful eyes and children's eyes shine so, when they have a smile on their faces.

  11. Good morning Caden-
Today is Tuesday June 9th and again I am very excited that your body seems to be getting better and stronger with each day that passes. I also wanted to comment on your biceps and pectoral muscles…Looking good! Have you been working out so that you can flex and strut your stuff in front of your girlfriend…Lindsay? In any case, continue your current pace and the progress report will inevitably improve and you will be back “H” very soon!
Well the Lakers completed their job for this year’s finals; winning the first 2 games at home. Now tonight we will see if the Magic can finally win a game in the finals but be able to take the next 3 games since they are playing on their home court.
Tonight the Pittsburgh Penguins are going to try to avoid a repeat and erase last year’s vision from their minds completely. Considering, it was one year ago today; the Red Wings were up 3-2 and game 6 was being played on Pittsburgh’s home ice; when Detroit skated in for game 6, outplayed the Penguins in their own building, and paraded around with the Stanley Cup. The Penguins, on the other hand have a different script to write about tonight’s game and this year’s series.
    Have a wonderful day Caden
