David and I would like to ask all of you to say a prayer for Caden when you read this blog. Caden has an infection which is undetermined at the moment. He has received antibiotics, ultrasounds, x-rays, IV's, a blood transfusion and they also administered a spinal tap today to try to figure out the cause of infection. Caden is very uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. We are in isolation right now (meaning we gown up, wear a face mask, and gloves apon entering the room). This is to prevent the spread of anything that potentially might be contagious. Please pray for Caden's strength to get through this very difficult and scary time.
Love
Melissa and David

Just remember that Caden has proven his ability to meet each fight with a knock out punch and we all know that he still had a lot of fight in his little body. He is so strong and so are the two of you. Lots of love to you all.

ReplyDeleteMelissa and David I just want you to know that the two of you are doing a tough thing right now and it is awesome to see such a support system between the two of you. The love and devotion you have for your family is unlike anything I have ever seen. Caden had a tough day but I wanted to tell both of you that you each made it better for him. David I know you were at work but you helped tons by supporting Melissa with all of the caos. Melissa, you were vital for Caden today... It was a huge help having you there and talking with the doctors. I couldn't have done my job without you two today. Keep strong and hopefully we will learn something soon about what's going on with Caden!

ReplyDeleteGood morning Caden-
ReplyDeleteToday is Friday June 5th and I hear that you are having some complications and that the doctors are having some issues figuring out where the infection is coming from. However, I know in my heart that the Children’s Memorial team will discover the root of the problem and get it resolved quickly. It may just take some time so we need you to dig deep and be strong and focused…GOT IT! But, I am confident that you will find the needed strength to get you through this hurdle as well.
Last Night Randy Johnson, a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, became the 24th player to reach 300 wins. The 45-year-old Johnson is the sixth left-hander to win 300 games and the second-oldest pitcher to reach this milestone. Phil Niekro, who was known for his Knuckleball, was 46 when he won his 300th game with the New York Yankees in 1985.
A few more facts about Randy Johnson:
Randy Johnson joined Steve Carlton and Gaylord Perry as the only two pitchers that have won their 300th game against a team they pitched for previously. Carlton and Johnson are the only pitchers to win their 300th game against the team they began their career with.
Johnson also has the fourth-best winning percentage amongst pitchers with 300 wins. Only Lefty Grove, Christy Mathewson, Roger Clemens and John Clarkson have a higher percentage. Johnson has won five Cy Youngs -- four of those came when he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Randy Johnson has struck out 300-plus batters in a season; six times. All of those seasons came after Johnson had turned 29.
Johnson is the first pitcher to get his 299th win and 300th win in consecutive starts since Tom Seaver did it back in 1985.
Have a wonderful day Caden
