So many of our pictures we take are obviously from the front. I couldn't resist this pic we took about a week ago with Nurse Julie. Look at Caden's MULLET. I'm not sure I can look at this picture without laughing.
Anyway, today was another good day. Dr. Nancy would like to start fortifying my breast milk to increase the caloric density so he will gain more weight (I think all the weight he gains is going straight to his little cheeks), and they are discussing whether or not to do another scope down the throat again to get a baseline of his vocal cord paralysis (we posted on this on March 25, 2009 if you wish to read). Otherwise, Caden is feeling better with each passing day. Thanks again for you thoughts, prayers, and comments. We are so fortunate to have all of you following us in our journey.
Love always -
Melissa

ROCK ON CADEN!!! The 80's and mullets were cool! Ask your Dad!
ReplyDeleteKeep getting stronger!

(A former mullet member... and dam proud!)
So, I hear the 80's hair is making a come back! Caden, looks like you're ready for that one! LOL!! Is your daddy playing all kinds of heavy metal head banging music for you to thrash your hair around?? If he isn't, he should be with that hair!! I have lots of pictures with your dad and a lot of his friends with mullets. When you get better, I will be sure to show you them. If Nurse Julie makes you laugh, I can't wait to see how you react to those pictures. I'd say that they'd make you pee in your pants, but well.....we all know that's already happening!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you are feeling better! You gave us all quite a scare! Now, no more of that please!! I just had my hair colored, and I can't keep getting those platinum high lights covered, okay? You are a real champ for putting up with that nasty infection!! Good thing you are the fighter that you are. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to knock out that yucky infection!! You keep getting stronger everyday buddy, and soon you'll get to go back to Cary!!
Love you guys!
Christine

PS: By the way....I LOVE your cheeks!!!!
Isn't a mullet a requirement of the state if you spend more than three months in Wisconsin?? I believe it is a law that is strictly enforced.
ReplyDeleteYou know you are in Wisconsin when the business is in the front and the party is in the back!! I think it is time to seriously think about moving that kid to Wisconsin!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that he is doing good and happy to see you all shed a little laughter every now and then.....keep eating kiddo!!
Love you!
Meg
No W today either Caden. Can you help the Cubbies out, please? Toss 'em an extra prayer because they are NEEDING ONE!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep improving, little one! You are doing great!
Love the new pics. So fun to see Caden smiling - he really is a handsome fellow even with his baby mullet. Its so nice to hear or read the good news...your happiness radiates with each word.

ReplyDeleteKeep getting stronger Caden!! Sending much love your way. MJ, Tony & boys
Way to go little man...you rock that mullet! So glad to hear that you're doing better day by day! As soon as they figure out this vocal cord paralysis you'll be able to go on the road with the baby hairbangers band (hmmm...I wonder if they make leather pants for babies)! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are such an amazing little boy and you inspire everyone around you!
Can't wait to read your mom and dad's next entry and read that you're doing even better!
hugs and kisses,
Traci
PHEW!! It is so good to hear such encouraging news again! Caden continues to amaze us with his strength and his fight!
ReplyDeleteI still think his hair looks like the Grandpa from the Ray Romano show, except Caden is much cuter! Pretty soon your daddy will teach you to bang your head to Metallica and flip that hair.
Love to all,
Tommy, Cheryl, Megan and Ty

Good morning Caden-
ReplyDeleteToday is Thursday June 11th and I wanted to say Happy 4 month birthday! Hey, you should let you hair down and party…ooops, you have already done that…Nice MULLET! Hey, don’t let your mommy tease you for I’m sure your dad once had one as well…actually, I think we all did!
Wow, I can’t believe that it was 4 months ago today, when you entered into this world. It truly is amazing the obstacles you have already overcome, in this short amount of time. Your current situation is truly an uplifting story. I feel very honored to be a part of your magical life!
Tonight we will see if Orlando has truly found its Magic as well! Since they were finally able to get the Monkey off of their back and post their first Finals win! However, Orlando needed to shot 62.5% from the field to hold off the Lakers the other night! Actually, that shooting display is an NBA Record for a finals game. The previous record was held by our own Chicago Bulls; (The old record was 61.7%, and was also against the Lakers, back in 1991).
The Lakers on the other hand, will be trying not to make the record books tonight! Considering, if they should lose again tonight, it will mark the eighth straight game that they have lost on the road, during the Finals. They are currently tied for the record, with 7 straight loses, with the Fort Wayne Pistons, who accomplished this feat, back in 1956.
Have a wonderful day Caden
That's awesome! Like a birthmark for Wisconsin babies, along with a love of the Packers, bratwurst and cheese (sorry Dave). I support'd "the tail" soon after birth.
ReplyDeleteSandy and I are regular readers of the blog and think about you guys alot. Very happy to hear the encouraging news. Look forward to seeing you soon and meeting Caden.
