It is the greatest day today! Today I saw my wife holding my son. Holding my son just 8 days after the Norwood procedure and 4 or so days before they originally thought we were going to be able to hold him. I have to be honest….I have seen a lot of beautiful things in my life but none as beautiful as Melissa holding Caden Marshall. This is the best day that I have personally had since we found out our son has HLHS (January 24th).
Tomorrow we will provide more details about the progress Caden Marshall is making. Today however I am going to leave it short. I don’t want to think about machines, or monitors, nurses, or doctors. Today my mind is consumed with the physical reunion between my wife and our son.
God is great!
David,

Good morning Caden,
ReplyDeleteToday is March 25th and what a beautiful day it is. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping for joy. It must mean that everything is rejoicing for this celebration of life. On the day of your 2nd week birthday, you get the best gift ever. The gift of feeling the comfort and love of your Mommy's arms wrapped around your tiny buddy! What a gift that must be! Caden, you are such a tremendous little boy and have hundreds of people that truly love you! Your Daddy is probably the happiest man alive right now. He has been waiting for this day to come for a very long time. What a great way to celebrate your 2nd week birthday. Words cannot describe how happy I am to hear this news! Keep up the great work and you will be coming home very, very, soon! Hey why don't you see if the nurses can sneak you in some of that special spiked milk for your birthday celebration!
Have a wonderful day Caden!
I'm so happy for you.
